Magento 1.4 install

Download files

Download "magento-1.4.1.1.tar.gz" to your computer.

Set up database

Create an sql database at your host site using cpanel > databases > my sql databases

Create an SQL user.

Add the user to the database with full rights.

Make notes of the names and passwords for use later.

Create a subdomain using cpanel > domains > subdomains example:

http://shop.beanboxcompany.com

Upload files

Extract the files.

Use your favourite ftp software(Filezilla) to upload the files to your subdomain

Install

Simply go to your subdomain, example:

http://shop.beanboxcompany.com

and follow the directions.
