Install Modx CMS

Modx version: 3.0.4

Download files

Download "modx-3.0.4-pl.tar.gz" to your computer.

Set up database

1. Create an sql database at your host site using cpanel > databases > my sql databases
2. Create an SQL user.
3. Add the user to the database with full rights.
4. Make notes of the names and passwords for use later.
5. Create a sub folder in the root under public_html using cpanel, example:

https://www.beanboxweb.com/modx

Upload files

Extract the files.

Use your favourite ftp software(Filezilla) or cpanel to upload the files to your sub folder

Install

Simply go to your sub folder in a browser, example:

https://www.beanboxweb.com/modx

and follow the directions.
