Modx create Article content editor

Modx version: 3.0.4

  1. Manage>users..create a new user
  2. Gear icon>Access control lists>Roles..Create a new role "Editor" with a authority level of 9
  3. Create the "Article content editor" user group and add the user to it with the role "editor"
  4. Duplicate the standard "Content Editor" access policy.. called it "Content Editor Article"
  5. Edit any permissions in the new access policy..Save
  6. Gear icon>contexts>access policies..edit the following
  • Context: mgr
  • User group: Article Content Editor
  • Access policy Content Editor Article

  • User group: Article Content Editor
  • Access policy Content Editor Article

Manage>Flush your permissions

You should be able to now login to the manager as your new user - they should only see the web resources (no elements OR files tab)
